Will the tent fit my car?
A: If you already have roof bars, it likely will. Our tent fits most factory or aftermarket bar systems. If you don’t, we may be able to supply bars — but we’ll need to confirm compatibility first.
Do i need roof bars?
A:
Yes. To safely mount the Roam Home, your vehicle must be equipped with roof cross bars – these are the bars that run side to side across the roof of your vehicle.
Make sure your cross bars are:
Securely mounted to your vehicle’s roof rails or fixed points
Rated to carry the load of the Roam Home system
Spaced appropriately to match the mounting points of the Roam Home
If you’re unsure whether your vehicle setup qualifies, feel free to contact us with a photo of your roof bars.

I dont have roof bars - can i still book?
A: Yes! We offer roof bar hire for select vehicles. Let us know your make and model when you enquire — we’ll check compatibility before confirming your booking.
How does installation work?
A: We fit the tent for you and offer two options:
- Visit us at our base (Gateshead)
- Or we come to your home (a small travel fee may apply)
Either way, we handle the full install and walk you through setup.
How long does set up take once it's on the car?
A: Less than 5 minutes! The tent pops open with a ladder and unfolds easily. We’ll show you exactly how it works.
How big are your roof tents?
A: Our roof tents can comfortably sleep two adults.
What's included in the rental?
A: Each hire includes the tent, mattress, ladder, full installation, and a short demo. Optional extras like bedding, lights, or tables can be added.
Can i drive with the tent installed?
A: Yes — it’s road-safe when fitted securely. Just drive as you would with a roof box and be mindful of height clearance.
What should i bring?
A: Your usual travel essentials — food, clothes, and anything personal. We’ve got your sleep setup covered, and extras are available if you want more comfort.
Is full payment required when booking?
A: We take a 25% deposit upfront to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due 28 days before your trip. This confirms your reservation and ensures your tentbox is prepared for your adventure.
What's your cancellation policy?
A: If you cancel 28 days or fewer before your trip, your booking is non-refundable.
If you cancel more than 28 days in advance, you’ll receive a 75% refund of your booking total (your 25% deposit is non-refundable).
Do you take a security deposit?
A: Yes — we require a refundable £200 security deposit (paid at collection). This helps cover any potential damage or missing equipment and is returned after inspection.
Do i need to clean the tent before returning it?
A: We ask that the tent is returned in a reasonably clean condition. If excessive cleaning is required, a small cleaning fee may be deducted from the security deposit.
Are dogs allowed?
A: Of Course! so long as you can lift them up / down the ladders, or have a suitable place for them to stay, they are more than welcome.
What if I get stuck or need help during my trip?
A: Don’t worry — you’ll have direct access to us via WhatsApp throughout your rental. Whether it’s a quick question or you need assistance, we’re just a message away and happy to help.
Can i extend our booking?
A: If the tent is available, you can extend your rental. Just get in touch through Whatsapp.
